I mean, practically immediately, it’s obvious to both the audience and the characters that Sharptooth, Ozzy, Strut, Hyp, Nod, Mutt, the Velocirpators, Dil, Ichy, Plated Sharptooth, the Swimming Sharptooth in V, the two Sharpteeth in VI, Pterano (except maybe, for a while, to Petrie), Rinkus, Sierra, Mountain Sharptooth, Swimming Sharptooth IX, the Sharpteeth in X, the Fast Biters in XI, the Sailback in XII, the Baryonxes in XIII, Red Claw, Screech, Thud, etc, and the Featherhead Sharpteeth and the Horned Sharpteeth are all villains.
What about another angle though? What if we had it where the characters for a long while would NOT know that the villain was a villain?
I guess my first example would be in LBT 15, where I had Ptero for a long time NOT realize that Agatha was the true villain and even Littlefoot & Co weren’t quite aware either.
In my LBT 18, I have the rest of the Gang mistrust the characters that turn out to be the villains, but Littlefoot, wanting to “fit in” with them as they seem cool, actually hangs out with them, shuns his friends, and even starts to copy some of their bad habits before finally getting wary of them, at which point they reveal their true intentions.
In my LBT 20, the villain IS revealed quite soon to the audience, but Ducky is totally clueless as to what’s going on and even for a while partners with the villain, hoping to stop Spike from leaving with his newly discovered aunt.
In my LBT 25, I reveal the villain, sort of, to the audience, but don’t describe him. His identity as a villain is kept secret till the very end of part 1. In part 2, Chomper starts to realize that he MIGHT be a villain but the villain outwits Chomper, frames him for some Leaf Eater deaths, and then eventually even takes over the Great Valley and kicks out Littlefoot, who still doesn’t realize that he is a villain. The audience, at this point knows, but not till nearer the end of part 3 do the characters realize that said villain is truly a villain. Movie 25 also has its own special twist on the villain thing, as, not only do they NOT know who the REAL villain is, many of them mistake Chomper as being the villain, thus, for a while, some are worried about the WRONG villain.
