Sorry for the late response. I’m not notified every time someone posts on the forum. Yeah, I took the screensaver down because I made that thing so long ago that I only tested it on Windows XP/Vista. I have no idea if it will work on 7/8/10/11. Thanks for reminding me. I forgot all about it. I’ll go ahead and test it on some modern operating systems and if it works I’ll put it back up again. If not, then I guess I’ll be making a new screensaver!
September 11, 2022 at 2:53 pm #71621AustinAdminIt looks updated. However, I can’t seem to find the gallery we had earlier.
Sorry but I’m doing some major updates to the site right now. It’s been a very long time since the site has had a major overhaul and it’s going to take quite a lot to get it going again. Expect things to be broken for a while.
June 22, 2022 at 12:46 am #69039AustinAdminYes, but it’s really slow going. Over 50,000 spam topics have been created and they all have to be removed about 10 at a time. Each group takes about a minute to remove, so to remove all of them will take about 5,000 minutes or 83 hours. Even working 8 hours a day would take over a week. I’m looking to find a way to do it quicker, but so far I’ve been unsuccessful.
And that’s just to clean up the mess. Next I have to devise a whole new security system. I’ve been able to stop the spammers from creating new accounts, but the only way I was able to do this was by completely disabling the registration system. This makes it impossible for new members to make an account.
I wish I would have known about the problems sooner. I don’t visit here enough to be able to keep on top of things.
February 14, 2020 at 7:48 am #68792AustinAdminMy username is my actual name LOL. I also registered the regular (non-admin) account of Landbeforetimelover so I can view the site as a regular member. I figured that being an admin requires a higher level of transparency, so I decided to use my real name. :happy_littlefoot
November 9, 2018 at 12:16 am #4859AustinAdminSweet mother his voice was bad! It was like they just pulled some random homeless bum off the street and gave him a role. If there is another movie made I really hope they can that guy. Although Grandpa Longneck will never sound “right” unless voiced by Kenneth Mars, unfortunately that’s not an option (@Littlefoot is right about him passing away unfortunately). :sad_spike
March 11, 2018 at 9:35 am #4535AustinAdminYay! The emoticons now work for me!!
Yeah, I just fixed them. They disappeared after one of the automated script updates and I thought I’d lost them. Fortunately I just found them on my main computer and was able to restore them. I thought I was going to have to remake them from scratch, which is why I put off fixing them for so long. :happy_mo
March 6, 2018 at 5:59 pm #4094AustinAdminI know little about geology, but it’s likely that the Great Valley itself has existed for tens of thousands of years. It’s likely that it was settled by leaf eaters because it was rich in green food and could be defended reasonably well from sharpteeth. From the original movie, it mentioned that the Great Valley was “a land that was still lush and green.” This implies that the rest of the world was undergoing some pretty radical changes, but the Great Valley was so far untouched.
This hypothesis is further evidenced in the 4th movie when the wandering migrating longneck herd noticed changes everywhere they went. “Lands that we had migrated across for years had become…the Land of Mists…” It’s unclear how the Great Valley remained unchanged while the rest of the world fell apart, but the Old One in LBT 4 seemed convinced that changes were very possibly going to hit the Great Valley next.
Thankfully they never did (unless you count the swarming leaf gobblers (locusts) that ate all the green food in the Great Valley, but that’s not exactly climate change). However, the reason why the swarming leaf gobblers came to the Great Valley might be due to the fact that green food had become so scarce elsewhere.
Grandpa Longneck certainly knew what they were as soon as he saw them, which implies that they were at least relatively common outside the Great Valley. Remember that Grandma and Grandpa Longneck have spent most of their lives living outside of the Great Valley.
December 16, 2016 at 5:35 am #3011AustinAdminThere are so many different franchises that are continued for the sole purpose of milking a cash cow and making money. I’m not saying that making money is bad or anything, but when it’s the primary (and frequently ONLY) motivation for doing so, it’s both obvious and insulting.
Breaking Bad should have ended before the final season. The Hobbit sucked, as did Star Wars episode 7.
And yes, the last good LBT movie was LBT 12. The 13th sucked and so did the 14th. But then again, it’s all about money now. It seems it’s easier to remake a cash cow real fast then to come up with something new that’s actually decent. It’s sad.
November 5, 2016 at 1:17 pm #2792AustinAdminJust a heads up, linking to content hosted elsewhere is fine. We just don’t host the material ourselves or allow members to upload copyrighted videos.
Your best bet if you want the episodes in good quality are to stop by your local Target or Walmart. They sell them 4 episodes per DVD for like $5.
We used to host low quality TV episodes on TheLandBeforeTime.org, but with how cheap they are nowadays it’s best to just buy them.
